Things Ralph Waldo Emerson Said

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

"The ancestor of every action is a thought."

"None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone."

"People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of their character."

I think I would have liked him.

Just checking in to see how your recovery's going. Or coming. (We get all mixed up with directions.) We're guessing you're healing perfectly beautifully, because really, what else could someone like you do?

I love Ralph Waldo Emerson, too. He was not only a brilliant and original thinker, but a truly caring human being, from the stories about him I have heard. Thank you for posting these quotes!

Beautiful blog! Awesome Mandalas! I have to tell you that a) I just stumbled onto your site by accident, b) I work for Brian Andreas, c) I had nothing to do with, nor any knowledge of, the above StoryPeople comment, d) I am a mandala artist who put his favorite mandalic creation on the cover of his book (see fuelforflames.com), and e) the first passage in the book is an Emerson quote.

So, to sum it up, it was very, umm, EXTREMELY cool and amusing to suddenly find myself HERE! Take care and keep it up...

Your words inspire, and thus the thought awakes for the spirit could open our eyes. Thank you. The colors on your blog warm my heart and challenge - your post guards the reader from falling asleep on his day-to-day road. Thank you once again.
